My Internship Journey at Coding Jr
Where I transformed from a nervous intern breaking package.json to writing production-ready code
Some experiences in life don't just teach you skills - they reshape how you think, how you code, and how you approach every challenge. My internship as a Full Stack Developer Intern at Coding Jr and Coding Pro was exactly that kind of experience. I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate within a massive ecosystem of 100+ employees across the tech and product teams, working in a high-performance environment where every line of code mattered for thousands of users.
In this blog, I want to share everything - from the visionary founders who built this company, to the incredible mentors who shaped me, and every lesson, mistake, and breakthrough moment along the way.
About Coding Jr & Coding Pro - The Company That Changed My Perspective
Coding Jr (school segment) and Coding Pro (college segment) are not just another EdTech setup. It's a company built by IIT BHU alumni with a genuine mission to transform education in India. The company operates under the umbrella of Reducate.ai, and the founders are also building Planto.ai - a self-sustainable AGI project.
What makes Coding Jr and Coding Pro unique is their three-pillar approach to education:
Academic
Curriculum design, instructional methods, and structured pedagogy that make complex concepts accessible to every learner.
Technological
Integration of modern labs for enhanced, hands-on learning - virtual labs, coding environments, and interactive platforms.
Evaluation
AI-powered assessment of student performance - smart, data-driven evaluation that adapts and provides real insights.
Education encompasses these three key aspects, and Coding Pro addresses all of them with cutting-edge technology and deep domain expertise. Being part of this ecosystem opened my eyes to what technology can truly achieve in the education space.
The Visionary Founders
Behind every great company are great leaders. At Coding Jr, I had the privilege of working under two founders whose achievements and vision left me absolutely inspired.
Vikas Shukla
An IIT BHU (2018) alumnus with a world-class trajectory. Vikas sir is not just a founder - he's a builder, a thinker, and someone who makes things happen at an incredible scale. His experience spans from Myntra to Fudan University (Shanghai), and he's partnered with giants like Jio and Bigbasket in gaming. He's also a published author, which reflects the depth of his knowledge and vision.
Sumit Bhat
Sumit sir is someone who truly embodies what it means to be a visionary leader. An IIT BHU (2018) graduate, he's building Planto.ai - a self-sustainable AGI - which is nothing short of audacious and brilliant. During my internship, I witnessed his incredible growth and recognition firsthand.
Witnessing the Growth - From Forbes to The Kapil Sharma Show!
One of the most exciting parts of my internship was watching the founders receive well-deserved recognition on national and global stages. It wasn't just reading about it - I was there, part of the very team they were building.
Forbes Select 200, 2025
Both Sumit sir and Vikas sir were featured in the prestigious Forbes Select 200 list — a recognition of the most promising entrepreneurs in India. Being an intern at a Forbes-recognized company? That hit different.
The Kapil Sharma Show Appearance
Yes, you read that right! Sumit sir was invited to The Kapil Sharma Show — one of India's most popular television shows. Watching our founder on national TV while I was coding away at the company was one of those surreal moments you don't forget. It showed me the level of impact this company was making.
Featured in Major Publications
ThePrint, Business Outreach, The Economic Times — the company was consistently making headlines. Times 40 Under 40 (2023), BW 40 Under 40 (2024), ET Inspiring Leaders — the accolades kept coming, and being part of this journey was incredibly motivating.
Watching all this happen in real-time during my internship was genuinely inspiring. It showed me what relentless execution and a clear vision can achieve.
The Team That Shaped Me - My Mentors & Guides
A company is only as good as its people. And the people at Coding Jr? They were extraordinary. Every single person I worked with taught me something invaluable. Let me introduce you to the incredible team that turned this nervous intern into a real developer.
The Engineering Team
Akshay Jangir Sir
If there is one person I owe the most to during this internship, it's Akshay sir. I cannot express enough gratitude for what he did for me - every single day. When I was stuck on merge conflicts (which happened A LOT in the beginning), he was there. When my code broke in production, he was there. When I made the same silly mistake for the third time, he was there - patient, calm, and always teaching.
He taught me how to write production-ready code - not just code that works, but code that's clean, maintainable, and follows best practices. He showed me how to resolve conflicts with less chaos, how to think before pushing, and how to actually understand what a proper development workflow looks like. I am beyond grateful - truly, I cannot thank Akshay sir enough for each and every day of guidance during my internship.
Sneh Soni Sir
Sneh sir is the kind of developer who makes you go "Wait... you can DO that with frontend?" The cool, creative stuff he built left me genuinely impressed. His frontend work wasn't just functional - it was art. He provided proper guidance on how to structure components, think about user experience, and write CSS that actually makes sense.
Beyond the technical skills, Sneh sir's approach to problem-solving was methodical and calm. He never made me feel stupid for asking questions, and his code reviews were goldmines of learning. Proper guidance from start to finish.
Raj Deshmukh Sir
Raj sir trained me. Plain and simple - he invested time in teaching me the fundamentals and making sure I understood WHY things work the way they do, not just HOW. The Raj sir and Aditya sir duo was something else - watching them work together was like watching a masterclass in real-time. They could tackle anything in the shortest amount of time, and that efficiency left a lasting impression on me.
Raj sir's training sessions were the best way to learn. He didn't just tell me what to do - he showed me, let me try, watched me fail, and then guided me to the right answer. That's the kind of mentorship that sticks with you forever.
Aditya Raj Sir
Aditya sir was the backend powerhouse. He developed cron jobs, handled complex backend logic, and was always researching and learning new ways to solve problems. Together with Raj sir, they formed an unstoppable duo - giving their absolute best in the least amount of time.
Watching him work taught me what it means to be a self-learner. He didn't wait for someone to teach him - he found answers, experimented, and delivered. Something I deployed, I would break too many times - package.json issues, newbie errors, minor things every time - and each time, the team was there to help me learn from those mistakes.
The Product Team
Siddharth Singh Sir
Siddharth sir showed me the other side of building products - it's not just about writing code. It's about understanding what users need, prioritizing features, managing timelines, and making tough decisions. His product management approach was structured and thoughtful, and it gave me a much broader perspective on how software companies actually operate.
Working with a product manager made me appreciate the bridge between engineering and business. He translated business goals into clear technical requirements, making it so much easier for us developers to execute.
Simran Thakur Ma'am
Simran ma'am, as the Product Head, showed me how the entire product lifecycle works at a strategic level. From ideation to execution, she had a clear vision of where things needed to go. Watching how she coordinated between teams, managed priorities, and made decisions gave me invaluable insight into how real products are built and shipped.
Her leadership style was collaborative - she listened, she involved the team, and she ensured everyone was aligned with the bigger picture. That's the kind of product leadership that creates great products.
What I Actually Learned - The Real Lessons
Writing code that works on your machine is one thing. Writing code that works in production, at scale, with real users? That's an entirely different skill. Akshay sir drilled this into me - every commit matters, every deployment is a responsibility.
- Git Conflicts Are Normal - I used to panic at merge conflicts. By the end of my internship, I was resolving them calmly (thanks to Akshay sir's patience and daily guidance).
- Package.json Is Sacred - I broke it so many times in the beginning. Different Node versions, wrong dependencies, missing scripts - I learned the hard way that package.json is the heart of your project.
- Ask, Don't Assume - Whenever I was stuck, every mentor encouraged me to ask. And every question led to deeper understanding.
- Frontend Is An Art - Sneh sir's work taught me that frontend development is not just about making things work - it's about making them beautiful, accessible, and performant.
- Cron Jobs & Backend Logic - Watching Aditya sir work on scheduled tasks and backend automation showed me the invisible infrastructure that powers products.
- Product Thinking Matters - Siddharth sir and Simran ma'am taught me that great software starts with understanding the "why" before the "how".
- Deployment Is Not the Last Step - It's a skill in itself. Monitoring, rollbacks, environment management - all equally important.
- Teamwork Makes Everything Better - The Raj sir and Aditya sir duo proved that collaboration multiplies output. The way they worked together was inspiring.
The Newbie Errors I'll Never Forget
Let me be honest - I made SO many mistakes. And I'm not ashamed of them because each one taught me something:
But here's the thing - nobody ever made me feel bad about making mistakes. Every error was treated as a learning opportunity. That's the culture at Coding Jr that I will always cherish.
Final Thoughts - More Than Just an Internship
This internship was my best way to learn. Not through YouTube tutorials or online courses, but through real production code, real deadlines, real mistakes, and real mentors. I walked in as someone who could write code. I walked out as someone who understands how to BUILD software.
If you're a student or aspiring developer reading this - find an internship that challenges you, surrounds you with people smarter than you, and lets you break things safely. That's how you grow. That's what Coding Jr gave me.
And to the entire Coding Jr / Coding Pro team - thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
